BILLET STAINLESS STEEL ROSE NUTS PLUS AN ENGRAVED ALLOY SPANNER
Norton rose nuts have over the years been re-designed many times and have been made with numerous fin shapes and materials.
They always had to be tightened with a hammer and punch or at best an ill fitting c-spanner but invariably worked loose and could cause a lot of problems to the head.
We have been re-machining norton cylinder heads and repairing the exhaust thread with a bronze threaded exhaust repair insert for some time on our CNC but we have found that the rose nuts which are currently available are being made from a variety of different styles and materials (casting's).
The threads are often different sizes and oval on the threads. This makes it difficult and time consuming to machine the heads individually to each nut.
To combat this we have made our own exhaust rose nuts. These are CNC machined from stainless steel bar to mimic as close as to the original styling as possible but are made more even and symetrical and this has let us create a spanner which will allow precision tightning without damaging the finning.
Other benefits include the expansion rate of the stainless is 3/4 that of the alloy head and our bronze insets, keeping the nut tighter in the head. The fining is finer than standard and will allow better cooling.
