Silver Seal Block Seal was developed in AMERICA to stop leakage from the water jacket of cast iron or aluminium cylinder heads and cylinder blocks. Being black in colour due to the ceramic particles and hardening agent, this liquid penetrates into porosity and cracks and seals the combustion gas from entering the water jacket as well as preventing leaks into the cylinder or externally. Porosity, frost and stress cracks are cured by one application.

It can also be used following mechanical repairs such as metal stitching or welding to guarantee the repair.

In the case of Rover V8's, this provides a permanent solution, especially for leaking liners (where they leak between the liner and the block but still within the gasket sealing ring). Saves engine strip down and expensive machining fitting new liners and/or a new block.

At P Seager engineering we have pressure checked and faced Rover V8 heads and been suspicious because of no obvious faults. Continued to pressure check the block and found after heating to about 50deg c, the middle liners have leakage around the outside within the gasket sealing ring.

This sealer cures it!
