We have started using this sealant for very demanding applications. This sealant is a highly sticky red non setting gel which has THE highest continuously rated thermal and pressure resistance of any sealant we have come across.

This seals to 250 deg c and up to 700 bar (over 10,000 psi)

This is what Wurth have to say.

'Sealing compound for sealing flanged joints which are exposed to high thermal and chemical stress. Seals all metals, glass and ceramic surfaces permanently and reliably. Not for use as a replacement for cylinder head gaskets.Temperature resistant from 50C to +250C. Pressure resistant up to 700 bar.'

Typical uses are:

Metal to metal head gasket joints, where you need to seal oil drain holes and stud holes. High pressure hydraulic pumps, water or oil filled high pressure casings and of course troublesome head gaskets where it is applied to assist sealing. I.E. suzuki AY50LC and various british classics and specials.
